I bought this as an 'upgrade' to my 25mm GSO Plossl and can tell no difference between the two. I did a side by side comparison on a variety of subjects from bright Jupiter to dim clusters. I could see no difference in: center sharpness, edge sharpness, contrast, flare, ghosting, or ability to resolve threshold objects. The 25mm is supposed to be one of Televue's better Plossls, and it certainly is a good eyepiece, but [to me] no better performance than a Meade/Orion/GSO standard Plossl which can be purchased for around $30. Fit and finish of the Televue is slightly better, but again not worth the extra price. I am using a 72mm ED doublet with dielectric diagonal and an 8 inch reflector--maybe if I were using a $4000. APO I would see a difference (?), but not with my modest equipment. Adorama is GREAT, [...] best price--I will buy from them again, but I think the whole Televue thing is over rated and a lot of hype and I am never going to fall for it again (I'm sure this won't offend anyone :) I give this eyepiece 4 stars because it is of course very decent in its own right, but I am disappointed with the edge performance (not sharp to the edge as claimed). The only upside is now I appreciate my GSO plossls even more than I did before. Hope this helps.
